The Readathon begins Wed, Feb 4th until Wed, Mar 4th
Its the PTO’s largest fundraiser and a great way to inspire your child’s love of reading.
Donation is totally optional!
Our goal is to read 200,000 minutes together while we raise $12,000 to support our school!
PLUS the K-4 and 5-8 classes that read the most will get to silly string Ms. Roth and Mr. Cluff at an assembly!

Wed 2/4: Free Book Swap with books, crafts, pizza, & more! Green Team Space: 6-7:30 pm

Thurs 2/12: Virtual Storytime with bedtime tales from surprise SCS readers: 7-7:45 pm

Fri 2/20: Character Day - Dress like your favorite book character!

Thurs 3/5: Community Read of Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes from 2:00-2:45 at SCS. Borrow the book at SCS Lobby or Pierson library. Purchase at a 20% discount at The Flying Pig. All adults and 5th to 8th graders are welcome!

Join the Golden Ticket Scavenger Hunt around Shelburne at any time! Every student who turns in their scavenger hunt sheet on Mar 6th will receive a prize!
It’s Time to Get Ready and Register!
The Readathon is now the PTO’s biggest fundraiser, raising money that directly supports field trips, author visits, teacher grants, staff appreciation days, recess and PE equipment, the Maker Space, literacy tools, books, and more.
Every minute read and every donation makes a difference!

Add Family, Friends and Neighbors!
Invite everyone—from Grandma to neighbors—to support your readers! Love, encouragement, and hugs are just as meaningful as donations. Add their contacts to PledgeStar to help build a network of support for your reader’s efforts!

Encourage Reading and Log Your Children’s Minutes
Post the calendar and reading log at home to track reading progress. Starting 2/4, update your child’s log weekly on PledgeStar and follow the school-wide leaderboard. Cheer on your reader as they help their class compete for fun prizes and celebrate a love of reading!
